The Big Woods trail goes through trees, some of which are more that 350 years old. On of the most beautiful trails in the reserve, this trail climbs out of the river valley and provides you with an impressive display of wildflower, ferns and wildlife. I had some person, problems but I learned a lot on this journey through the Lower Narrows. I saw tons of birds and even some snakes, which were all little until I almost stepped one the biggest one that lived in Ohio,( just the biggest species.) It was five feet long and I didn't even get to see its head. Its tail was as long as the path. Good thing I was looking down!

Black Rat Snakes are Ohio's largest snake. They can be found in forests and often inhabit old barns where they control rodent population. When the snake gets older the bright colors fade away into a black brown. I encountered an old one!

We went to learn about how cold the water was, after swimming in it. (Not a good idea!) It was really cold. I have a great experience to explore which felt like endless of new things when in the forest. At the Nature Reserve we saw, hawks, vultures, owls, turtles, and more snakes. I figured out how many venomous snakes are in Ohio.
